The judges seem nonimpartial. They seem to get a sadistic pleasure off of their power, and the atmosphere feels evil. Government arbitrary action at its best.
The clerk in greeenwood court is very rude and unprofessional. I don't know how they could hire someone that is so rude. I was asking for a simple way to pay my ticket and she yelled at me saying they are closed. This is ridiculous. When I call the court they never answer. This is a horrendous court. The city of greenwood should have put more time into fixing their corrupt and disgusting court.
Greenwood city court is by far the worst court to ever end up in. Judge Gregory does not judge fairly with anybodies best interests in mind. He will sentence you to jail on anything and everything, traffic violation? 260 do 135, minor drug charge? 260 do 135, get into a fight? 260 do 135 and guess what? It doeasnt end there, then you get probation! Excessive amounts of it to, plus of course they want that money, and you had better believe that's what its all about, you get a compliance hearing, and youll be lucky to be notified about it, and if you do and you show up, AAAALLLLLLL of that money had better be paid because guess what? You go to jail for that too :) so enjoy your experience with judge Lewis Gregory and his court :) I've had multiple attornies tell me that out of all the counties I messed up in, I did it in greenwood, and out of all of the judges i got judge Gregory, gets pretty bad when even lawyers know hes a real p.o.s :)
Have Called three days in a row during their open hours and my phone call was never answered. A collective total of 3 hours of listening to my phone ring after going through the awful automated machine. Give yourselves a ticket. Unbelievable. So here I am still left in the dark with no answers to my questions.
This court is a joke. The window to pay for tickets is only open for 4 hours 3 days a week, and 2 hours on Friday even though I could clearly hear people behind the closed windows..thats completely ridiculous. People have jobs and lives and are given the most insane amount of time to figure anything out. It wouldn't let me pay the ticket online, and there wasnt anyway to find out how much the ticket was without physically going down to the office. There is no information on anything so you're pretty much lost as soon as you walk in. The phone number is a complete waste of time and gives you no information whatsoever. I understand no one likes paying a fine but it shouldn't be this impossibly hard.
