We rent cars a couple times a year for various trips out of state and we always use Avis/Budget. The service is okay, but we don't always get the size car that we pay for. In fact twice we have been given a smaller car than what we paid for and been charged more for it. Every time we rent a car they always seem to be dirty. Crumbs everywhere, they smell, dirty windows, etc. Be careful and make sure you know your car sizes so you're not taken advantage of!
The absolute worst experience with a rental car company of my life. Pulled into an over crowded parking lot with no where to park. Improperly parked vehicles and trailers everywhere. We walked in to a dingy empty lobby, and waited for the slumbering employee in the back to emerge, with sleeping wrinkles on her face. Rented an over priced car from the unfriendly troll. Get into the car, smells like cigarettes, I suggest to my wife that we clarify with them that it smells like tobacco before we leave but decide against it because shes pregnant and hungry. My wife accidentally backs into a low sitting trailer parked improperly in the middle of the parking lot. I contact the owner, Susan, explain the situation and she tells me that I "should have been spotting my wife as she backs up", and that Budget cant do anything about the smoke smell because we've already moved the vehicle. I became upset with Susan for assuming that every customer has a spotter while leaving the horrendous parking lot, and Susan admits to me that Budget/Avis corporate has neglected to remove vehicles from their lot for weeks. While on the phone with Susan another customer comes to return a car, the man parks it (improperly in the already congested lot), turns the keys in, and leaves without any post inspection of the car. My customer experience with this business has been the worst Ive ever experienced and I have made it my new special project to get this franchise closed or bought by corporate due to breach of contract.
UPDATE: This place is a joke. The staff is rude and unprofessional. The cars are never clean...ever. We made a reservation 2 months ago and they didn't have a car for us when we went to pick it up last week. There were plenty of cars in the lot, but they all apparently needed oil changes. We took our business elsewhere and will continue to do so in the future. They also need to spend some money and update this place...it looks like a dump. Everything else in the area has been redone and looks nice.
The staff here is terrible. Sadly, I think it's the culture of Budget as their reservation line and customer service department are equally terrible. Had a reservation for 8am on a Saturday morning. Arrived on time and was told they did not have a car ready for me. I was told that I could take a mini van (which I did not want) or wait for a car. The girl was incredibly rude. When I asked about why a row of cars were not ready she snapped at me and told me that they needed oil changes. The guy who services rentals between customers was not doing his job, instead was standing out front smoking. The girl could not tell me when a car would be ready.
It seems that Everytime I rent here there is a problem. Either the car is not ready, it smells like cigarettes, it's dirty, OR has broken parts. Don't waste your money here. Go to Enterprise down the road. The cars are nicer, and the staff treat you like a human being and not some piece of garbage.
This local location jas a friendly staff who is willing to help. Cars are clean
Nothing but issues from this location. Over charged, no apologies. Unaccomadating. Just not a good experience.
